Now, I am a HUGE Maine fan, I still believe in him but I think something is wrong with his arms. He is too young for this to happen, but I feel like he has never gotten back into the groove after his surgery. But I still back him up, and if I have to use the Jose Reyes example I will. (Out for 11 months, and didn’t do shit until a couple nights ago) yeah.
I agree with you. I feel so bad for him. He’s got potential. We can’t stop believing in him. I want to cry with pity when I see him pitch… he needs a hug <3

My problem with John Maine is that he hasn’t had a good year since ‘07. Blame it on the injuries or not, he didn’t pitch well enough in ‘08 and ‘09 to justify a guaranteed spot in the rotation at the start of spring training. I agree with the hugs part but if he can’t get past the fifth inning in any of his four starts this year than I’m wondering why we’re even keeping him around. I think he should go down to the minors to work on his velocity and pitch count (assuming he doesn’t get DL’d) and then when that’s all under control he can come back.
